# Creating fixed tenancy ad campaigns

Fixed Tenancy Ad (FTA) campaigns allow retailers to create campaigns on behalf of suppliers with guaranteed ad positions and fixed pricing. This premium advertising option provides predictable placement and cost for your most valuable inventory.

{% hint style="info" %}
FTA campaigns are available to Retailer team users. Contact your account representative to enable this feature.
{% endhint %}

### How to access FTA campaigns

FTA campaign creation is available through the standard campaign wizard when you're logged in as a Retailer team member.

1. Navigate to **On-site Campaign** in the sidebar
2. Click **New Campaign**
3. The FTA wizard automatically appears when creating campaigns as a retailer

{% hint style="info" %}
If you click Create Campaign and do not see this option, you may be in an advertiser team. Make sure you are in the retailer team.
{% endhint %}

### Creating an FTA campaign

{% hint style="info" %}
This is a high-level overview of all steps needed. If you need to know more about specific targeting and stages of the wizard, view the detailed overviews of each stage, including guided tours in [Campaign creation & editing](/retail-media-interface/campaign-creation-and-editing/navigating-the-campaign-wizard.md).
{% endhint %}

#### 1. Set up your campaign

1. **Select supplier team**
   * Choose the supplier team this campaign is for
   * The campaign will appear in both your dashboard and the supplier's view
2. **Choose campaign type**
   * Product Ad, Banner, or BannerX
3. **Enter campaign details**
   * Campaign name
   * Start and end dates (end date is always required for FTA)
   * Select wallet for billing

<figure><img src="https://19206235-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FmxYbXHcdDvQ7toxAu8ql%2Fuploads%2FIx1Wi8deRwX3hakLmXrm%2FCleanShot%202026-03-19%20at%2015.10.43.png?alt=media&amp;token=36dced90-7c68-467c-92fa-24a1f0152925" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

{% hint style="info" %}
FTA campaigns require an end date. The "Always On" option is not available for fixed tenancy campaigns.
{% endhint %}

#### 2. Select products and catalogs

1. **Choose catalogs**
   * Select one or more catalogs to target
   * Campaign dates must fall within catalog active periods. This is a back-of-house setup. If you see any issues, please contact Support.
2. **Add products**
   * Select products from your chosen catalogs
   * You can either select products individually or add multiple products at once by entering the product code (for example, SKU or UPC according to your retailer's catalog).
3. **Add Unified Attribution product group IDs**
   1. Enter your offsite product group ID from Epsilon Access to enable unified reporting. You can add multiple IDs separated by a comma. These will be provided by your Epsilon AM if you are creating a unified activation campaign.

<figure><img src="https://19206235-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FmxYbXHcdDvQ7toxAu8ql%2Fuploads%2FTYwRYOuB4O1trFFkTf6B%2FCleanShot%202026-03-19%20at%2015.18.05.png?alt=media&amp;token=ead0fed2-69a7-4736-b06f-64b82fc49cab" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

#### 3. Configure targeting

1. **Select placement**
   * Choose where your ads will appear
2. **Select position** (Product Ad campaigns)
   * Choose your guaranteed position(s) in search results
   * Positions show availability status
   * Unavailable positions indicate conflicts with existing campaigns

{% hint style="info" %}

### Targeting Configurations and Fixed Tenancy System

Targeting configurations vary based on placement selection. The fixed tenancy system books under specific parameters.

**Applicable Targeting Parameters**

Depending on placement, the system considers these parameters:

* **Active Period Date Range**
* **Placement**
* **Keywords**: Both phrase and exact are booked as a single keyword.
* **Categories**: Including cross-sell categories

**Non-Applicable Targeting Parameters**

The system does not book using the following:

* **Audiences**
* **Locations**
  {% endhint %}

The below is an example of a simple setup:

<figure><img src="https://19206235-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FmxYbXHcdDvQ7toxAu8ql%2Fuploads%2FL9tXnn2KDAknlxBymKQm%2FCleanShot%202026-03-19%20at%2015.40.46.png?alt=media&amp;token=9ca163b5-d516-4c8e-8ab3-cfa4bad17e01" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

{% hint style="info" %}

## Position conflicts

If you see a position conflict error:

* Another FTA campaign is already using that position
* Check for overlapping date ranges, catalogs, or targeting
* Select a different position or adjust your campaign date

You can click the error icon to view a modal of the conflicting campaign.
{% endhint %}

{% hint style="warning" %}
When booking a fixed tenancy campaign, each campaign reserves a single position in an ad response. If, as a retailer, you offer a set of positions (like positions 1-3), you must create a separate campaign for each position.
{% endhint %}

#### 4. Set up creative (Banner/BannerX only)

1. **Select slot and content standard**
   * Choose the banner slot configuration
2. **Select position** (BannerX only)
   * Position selection appears after choosing a slot
3. **Configure creative assets**
   * Upload images and set banner text

<figure><img src="https://19206235-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FmxYbXHcdDvQ7toxAu8ql%2Fuploads%2FvhOxoI5uJnhOznXi548w%2FCleanShot%202026-03-19%20at%2016.05.40.png?alt=media&amp;token=972eb5c7-1903-4b16-a4b6-dead7b22d1c3" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

{% hint style="info" %}
FTA Banner campaigns can only use one slot.
{% endhint %}

#### 5. Set campaign cost

1. **Enter campaign cost**
   * Set the total fixed cost for the entire campaign period
2. **Allocate cost across catalogs** (multi-catalog campaigns)
   * Distribute the total cost as percentages
   * Percentages must total exactly 100%

<figure><img src="https://19206235-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FmxYbXHcdDvQ7toxAu8ql%2Fuploads%2FP4a8QRyMIjdViQt0ytix%2FCleanShot%202026-03-19%20at%2016.17.593.png?alt=media&amp;token=c861aa9c-6371-4860-aae3-f6b2bd3622a3" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

| **Campaign Cost** | Total fixed cost for the campaign duration |
| -------------------- | --------------------------------------------- |
| **Catalog** | Each catalog in your campaign |
| **Percentage** | Share of total cost allocated to each catalog |
| **Allocated Amount** | Calculated amount based on percentage |

{% hint style="info" %}
Cost allocation is used to calculate fixed tenancy reporting.
{% endhint %}

#### 6. Review and submit

1. **Review all settings**
   * Verify campaign details, targeting, and cost allocation
2. **Submit campaign**
   * Campaign enters approval workflow or goes live based on your settings

<figure><img src="https://19206235-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FmxYbXHcdDvQ7toxAu8ql%2Fuploads%2FB238HF2dC4cidOfYtMAO%2FCleanShot%202026-03-19%20at%2016.19.112.png?alt=media&amp;token=ce356a45-9310-4948-aa00-181916464910" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

### Tips for success

* **Plan ahead** — Reserve positions early for high-demand periods
* **Check availability** — Review position availability before finalizing dates
* **Communicate with suppliers** — Confirm campaign details before creating FTA campaigns on their behalf
* **Monitor performance** — Track FTA campaign metrics in your reporting dashboard

### Troubleshooting & support

| Position shows as unavailable | Another campaign has reserved this position. Try a different position or date range. |
| ---------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| Catalog active period error | Campaign dates extend beyond catalog active period. Adjust campaign end date. |
| Cost allocation doesn't equal 100% | Adjust percentages until total equals exactly 100%. |
| Supplier cannot edit campaign | FTA campaigns are retailer-managed. Only the creating retailer can edit. |

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://help.citrusad.com/retail-media-interface/retailer-campaign-management/creating-fixed-tenancy-ad-campaigns.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
